Cara’s Review
“Encanato is a vibrant, colorful story about heroic late-bloomer Miirabel who is the only member of her magical household without a “gift.” She is instead the embodiment of that awkward teenager with her thick glasses, terrible bob haircut, and feeling out being left out. All the while, she is surrounded by her lovely, popular family. It can feel impossible to compete with that.
Does Mirabel’s giftless-ness mean she isn’t special? Of course not!
In fact, I’m willing to bet she holds a secret gift from the beginning while not knowing it. Unlike the rest of her family, she must work, search, and fight to discover it.. That’s what her heroic journey is all about. In the end her mysterious gift will be the most special and beautiful of all.
