NOBODY 2 is a 2025 American road action comedy film directed by Timo Tjahjanto, with a screenplay by Derek Kolstad and Aaron Rabin. It serves as a sequel to Nobody (2021). Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, RZA, Colin Salmon, Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath, and Christopher Lloyd reprise their roles from the original film, while John Ortiz, Colin Hanks, and Sharon Stone join the cast as new characters.
to the surprisingly well-received original “NOBODY”, which stars Bob Odenkirk from “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”, has finally hit theaters. With additional stars such as Colin Hanks, Christopher Lloyd, and Sharon Stone, this film promises an entertaining experience.
If action and mindless violence are what you enjoy, you’re likely to love this movie. However, don’t expect a deep and thought-provoking plot. If you are looking for intricate storytelling, this might not be the film for you. Conversely, if you want two hours of high-paced action featuring a vigilante wreaking havoc, you’ll probably enjoy this sequel.
In the film, Hutch (played by Odenkirk) yearns for a weekend getaway in a nostalgic spot from his youth with his family. Unfortunately, things take a turn when he encounters a redneck sheriff, wonderfully played by Colin Hanks. When Hutch’s son and daughter get pulled into small-town politics, he finds himself entangled in a large criminal element led by Sharon Stone‘s character.
One noteworthy theme in this movie is the concept of family and the sacrifices made for loved ones. It’s evident that Hutch’s family cares deeply for one another. Despite past decisions, Hutch strives to protect his children at all costs, even risking his own safety. This dedication to family mirrors a tradition established by his own father, played by Christopher Lloyd.
Additionally, the film highlights the importance of friends who come to the aid of each other, like a mother embodying the “Momma Bear” archetype and a brother looking out for his sister. In a world where family values often take a backseat, this film showcases a strong familial bond.
Another aspect I appreciated is the emphasis on vacations. Spending time with loved ones should be a priority for everyone. For me, the memories of enjoyable vacations last a lifetime. As a person of faith, I also see the value in keeping a Sabbath.
There are many more themes present, but these are some highlights presented in a fun way. While the Bible states, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord,” NOBODY 2 may lead you to think that sometimes the Lord uses people to carry out that vengeance.
I had a lot of fun watching this movie, and I wouldn’t mind seeing it—or the original—again. Bob Odenkirk proves to be a terrific actor who can also excel in an action-adventure role. While there are some questions I had about the film, I didn’t expect a classic, just an entertaining time. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an enjoyable 8.
