With the Halloween season approaching, I felt obligated to watch this film despite the negativity surrounding it. I must admit, I was a bit lazy on this one and didn\u2019t do my research beforehand, so you\u2019re getting my raw opinion, which may not be a bad thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>First, this is the second chapter of three that will be shown in theaters.<\/strong> I didn\u2019t consider that going in, and it definitely influenced my overall feeling after watching the movie. <strong>What we have here is a direct sequel to Chapter 1,<\/strong> which is almost essential to see before watching this film. The terror comes from characters whose evil is unknown to us. There is a lackluster attempt to provide background on the strangers and their development. <strong>They are simply people wearing masks, and we never really understand why or who they are.<\/strong> They don the masks while terrorizing and attempting to kill some campers. One young woman survives after the first chapter, prompting the strangers to follow her to the hospital where she has been admitted and try to kill her there. However, even that wouldn\u2019t detract from its weak attributes. <strong>Were there any redeeming, thought-provoking aspects to this film?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>For me, the best takeaway is something we\u2019ve seen before<\/strong>\u2014especially in \u2018The Walking Dead\u2019 television series and its spin-offs: real monsters do exist, and they are most often people. Evil forces influence some, as the Bible tells us that Satan came to seek and destroy. I think most viewers will agree about the ending. <strong>Due to the unsatisfying conclusion, weak story, and lackluster plot\u2014including a lack of continuity\u2014on a scale of 1 to 10, I sadly have to give this one a 2.<\/strong> For me, this has been the most disappointing entry in \u2018The Strangers\u2019 series so far. If you decide to watch it, think about the real monsters in this world and what drives them to commit evil acts.
