Chainsaw Man anime is making some serious waves

Yo, have you heard about Chainsaw Man? It’s the anime that’s been making some serious waves in 2022! Studio MAPPA knocked it out of the park with the first season, introducing us to the wild world of devil hunters led by our boy Denji. We’re still waiting for confirmation on a second season, but one thing’s for sure, this show has made a lasting impact.

Betrayed and killed, a teenager named Denji gets revived as Chainsaw Man, a soul with a devil’s heart. Chainsaw Man, an action series starring Kikunosuke Toya, Shiori Izawa, and Tomori Kusunoki

One of the standout features of Chainsaw Man’s first season was its opening theme, “Kick Back” by Kenshi Yonezu. The tune is so popular that it’s been viewed by millions on YouTube.

But that’s not all; the show’s animation also parodied some classic films like Pulp Fiction and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Each episode even had a different ending theme and animation, which was a refreshing change from the usual anime formula.

If you’re itching for more Chainsaw Man, the manga is still ongoing and releasing new chapters every week. The story continues with Asa Mikata taking over as the protagonist and teaming up with Denji to take on the Falling Devil. It might be a while before we see all this blood and gore hit the screen, but it’s sure to be worth the wait. And if you’re a fan of Kenshi Yonezu’s music, he’s got plenty of other anime tunes under his belt, like ones for Paprika, My Hero Academia, and Kite.

Chainsaw Man is available to stream now. Watch it on Hulu, Prime Video or Apple TV on your Roku device.
